Millennial Pen in Hand
The Beginning of Millennial Pen in Hand: Chris
For the longest time, it’s been an aspiration to write about, well anything, really. Any chance where I could elaborate more, find a better word to use, or most of all tell a story. I would snatch it up in an instant. I would hold onto it for as long as I could. Simply because, I didn’t know when the next chance to tell my story would come. My name is Christopher, Chris for short. I’m 25 years old and I have a degree in Hospitality Management that I thought would never come in handy. Truthfully, I believed it was something that would just fade into obscurity, at least that was before I discovered blogging.
At first I couldn’t believe what people were capable of through blogging alone, but with more research an idea formed. An idea with three words: Food, Games, Travel. Page after page, post after post, I read like there was no tomorrow. I just couldn’t help myself! What makes a blog a blog, and how do you make a blog? Moreover am I even talented enough for a blog? As a result, for weeks Google and I we were best pals. All of that research has culminated to what you see before you today, a blog about those three words: Food, Games, Travel. It’s what I’m aspiring to write about, more importantly, it’s what I’m passionate about.
As a result of all that research, I find myself here, getting to spend my spare time writing about the things I love. Specifically the food that Mandy and I plan on making into recipes and sharing with you. As well as reviewing and recording wonderful games that we stumble across. And most importantly, every adventure that comes across as interesting including the many chapters that Millennial Pen in Hand will go through. I wholeheartedly look forward to making and sharing many memories with each and every one of you, and hope that eventually you will do the same.
The Beginning of Millennial Pen in Hand: Mandy
Hi, I’m Mandy. I’m an Aries, half Brazilian, and first generation college graduate. So, I started my working life in Cosmetology, and uh, that didn’t go too far. I still hold my license, but just like Harley Quinn, “‘I switched career paths’”. Since then I’ve received my degree in Human Resources and have been in it ever since. I love people. I love psychology. Believe me when I tell you that people are just children playing grown-ups.
I also really love baking. Chris tells me that just because he was a culinary student, he learned that baking is a science. And I’m here to tell you baking is a science experiment. Yeah, yeah, he’s probably cursing me right now. Science is constantly coming up with new concepts, being rewritten, or getting disproven altogether. So experiment. There are two things you never measure: Garlic and Vanilla. (Note: Please don’t use garlic and vanilla in the same recipe. That is one experiment I am protecting you from.)
More than anything else, I love Chris. I love cooking for him and his family, I love planning mini getaways and going on adventures with him, I love the moment we both try a new wine that we instantly love and our eyes meet in excitement, I love playing video games and losing until he has to come to my rescue, and most of all I love falling asleep at night and knowing that I am loved.
If you’re going to do anything in life, do it passionately. Love passionately, cook passionately, adventure passionately. Put all of yourself into what you love, because at the end of the day, you’re only cheating yourself if you don’t. You are what you love.
